WorldPride is an international celebration that incorporates activism,
education, and the celebration of the history and culture of LGBTQ people and
communities from all around the world. For the first time, Canada hosts
WorldPride this year in Toronto, Ontario, between June 20th and 29th, 2014.
During WorldPride, the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) will promote the
labour movement’s work in defending fairness for LGBTQ workers, celebrate
our gains, and develop strategies for our ongoing work to address
discrimination and inequality in both the workplace and in our communities.
The CLC will be participating in both the WorldPride 2014’s Human Rights
Conference and the Pride Festival. We encourage affiliates and federations of
labour to help us bring the Fairness Works message by sending delegates to
the Human Rights Conference, and marching in the Annual Pride Parade on
June 29th.

During the Human Rights Conference, the CLC and the Ontario Federation of
Labour are presenting “Pride at Work” on June 27th at 9:00 a.m. There are
other workplace-oriented conference presentations organized by international
and national allied organizations. For information about the Human Rights
Conference and other labour events during the Human Rights Conference,
contact Rashida Collins at rcollins@clc-ctc.ca.
On June 29th, the CLC along with affiliates and the Ontario Federation of
Labour will march together in the Annual Pride Parade. To find out how to
march with the CLC in the Annual Pride Parade, please contact Federico
Carvajal at fcarvajal@clc-ctc.ca at the CLC’s Ontario regional office.

Human Rights Conference or to register delegates, go to

WorldPride see OPSEU’s website: http://www.labourpride.com.
Canada’s labour movement has long been active in Pride events in
communities across Canada throughout Pride season. There are a variety of
events hosted by the WorldPride organizers, allied organizations and affiliates.
We encourage you and your members to join the CLC at the various marches
and activities.
