This is a new chapter for Canada’s labour movement
Did you know Labour Day is a national holiday because working people pressured the federal government into making it happen?
It’s amazing what people in Canada can do when we stick together. It’s a value I share with the labour movement and inspired the Forward Together campaign.
Canada has weathered the pandemic better than the United States because we all worked together. Now we need to keep sticking together and disaster-proof Canada for the future.
Sign on to support a Canadian plan that’s rooted in our way of doing things – on healthcare, on jobs and in how we care for each other.
Politicians are making choices right now that affect our daily lives and economic recovery. It’s critical that we take steps now to reject calls for American-style cuts, austerity measures and privatization.
There’s a lot we got right, but there are things we got wrong too. We need to learn lessons from the pandemic to prepare for Canada’s future – like keeping seniors safe, investing in health care and making sure employment insurance is strong enough to take us through economic disasters.
We need to tackle issues like systemic racism, child care and affordable housing – not only is it the right thing to do, but it’s also vital to our recovery.
We’ll be sending you simple and quick actions you can take like adding your name to this campaign so we can help build a better future for people here in Canada.
Happy to have you on the team!
