135th Memorial Ceremony – July 29th in Nanaimo, BC

135th Memorial Ceremony to the six Longshore Brothers from Seattle who were killed on the job in Nanaimo, BC. Guest speakers from ILWU Canada, ILWU Local 508, and the BC Labour Heritage Centre will be paying tribute to these men. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Location: St. Peters Church, 310 Machleary Street, Nanaimo, BC ( In the cemetery beside the Church.)

On July 29, 1886, six Seattle longshore workers were killed on the job in Nanaimo, BC. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation of the services rendered by our six comrades. The names of our fallen brothers are as follows:

Hans Hanson

August Johnson

William Kade

William McDonald

Patrick Priestly

William Robee
