Video: BOATLIFT – An Untold Tale of 9/11 Resilience
A manager here in discussing Emergency Planning at the Port talked about this Tom Hanks narrated video about how boats of all shapes and sizes assisted in rescuing thousands caught up in the 9/11 terrorist attack. It reminded me of an event I attended 15 years ago as part of the ITF Global Mariner tour where the city of Kobe thanked and commemorated its Port and unions for their vital role in the immediate response and long recovery from the massive earthquake that struck the region in 1995.
